National Community Boat Association

National Community Boat Association
July 2012

The one common thing about community boats is that most of them spend their lives tied up and underused at their moorings.

I always think that this is a huge shame, projects which must have started off with a great burst of enthusiasm but for which the dream has died for lack of enthusiasm on the part of the organisers or the prospective users.

I am not alone in this view, and a new blog site has been launched under the banner of the National Community Boat Association which looks to maximise the visibility of community boats and get more people out on the water. All very laudable and worthy of support.

Their aim is to become a signposting site for community boats so if you know of a community boat organisation, or are involved in one, take a look at their site and create a link.
